We managed to get to the semi final of the rugby to watch Canterbury take on Hawkes Bay. It was a close match, but towards the end, fitness levels prevailed and Canterbury reached the final with a 31-21 victory. The final itself was at Wellington yesterday, which meant we were unable to travel, but Canterbury won the cup, with a dramatic 7-6 victory. Those who are interested can see the match report.
This weekend however, sees the start of the FIFA World Cup - yes a football finals in NZ......for the under 17 ladies ;)
CHCH plays host to a number of teams and the matches are played at QEII stadium, which is a fantastic sports centre (we went swimming there yesterday, it was like a Centre Parcs pool)
